I've been waiting for this day... XD !!!! Okay, as you can probably assume, this is one of my FAVORITE books!! So this is the sequel to 'If I Stay' which i reviewed a couple weeks ago. This novel is from Mia's boyfriend's (Adam) point of view It takes place three years after the incident with Mia's family. Adam is now a full blown rock star. He is on every cover of every magazine. He has a movie star girlfriend named Brynn. Adam has a rough life, considering that after Mia left Portland to go to Julliard, he never saw her again... until tonight. Adam, angry and depressed, takes a night in New York City to himself. But as he was walking past Radio City, he saw a face on a poster. A face he will never forget. Mia was performing her cello there. He bought last minute tickets and was soothed by the relaxing music coming from her fingers. They encounter many run-ins that night... but end it with a bang! I'm pretty sure i cried about three times in this book! That's how well Gayle Forman wrote it! It touched me and it'll definitely touch you! When I read books, I get really attached to the characters, so to read the ending of 'Where She Went' I could tell what was going to take place in they're futures 100% And to be honest, i'm pretty satisfied about it! I give this novel 10 out of 10! I actually got this book signed by the author. I also got 'A Breath Of Eyre' signed as well the same day. Just something interesting. This is more of a sci-fi story. it's about a young man named Ephraim (Eh-fry-eem) who, mysteriously, after school finds his mother sprawled on the kitchen table unconscious with a bottle of pills clenched in her hand. Ephraim is astonished and gets her to the hospital right away. But when he get's to the hospital, he finds a boy in a gurney...dead. The weird thing is... the boy was him. He is really freaked out. He receives the boy's wallet that only consists of an ID, and a coin. The next day, he finds a note in his locker. It says simply to flip the coin and make a wish. Ephraim doubtfully tries it, but to his surprise, it came true. His mother is out of the hospital and no longer an alcoholic. This leads us into the VERY complicated story of Ephraim's coin. Betrayal and death takes place between his best friend, Nathan, and his crush, Jenna. You must pay attention to everything in this novel. Even if you skip one sentence, you will be confused. This wasn't my favorite book. It entertained me and i found the sci-fi pretty cool, but this book might not be for everybody. If you have a short attention span or get bored easily, don't read this book. Overall, i'd give this book a 6 out of 10. ~Emily This one's gonna be hard. I read this like a year ago so i'll try to do my best. 'The Other Side of Dark' is about a teenage girl named Stacy McAdams. She was shot when she was 13 years old. Her mother was also killed by the murderer who shot her. She wakes up 4 years later after being in a coma. She does't remember anything. She has a new body, a pregnant sister, a too grown up best friend, and a new way of living. She has 4 years of fashion, politics, events, and drama to catch up on, along with the stress and depression of loosing her mother to a gun. But the only thing on her mind is finding the face that took her mother's life that worthless summer day. This book is shocking, yet very satisfying. I left the last page with a smile on my face. Mysteries and a teeny weeny sprinkle of romance completes this book with a bow on top. ~Emily Dubin I'm sorry! I couldn't find any book trailers for 'Pandemonium'. I'll try to make another review as soon as possible.
In all, i would probably give this book a 6 out of 10. The reason i had to keep reading was because i knew that if i didn't read this one, i wouldn't be able to read the last one of the trilogy when it comes out in March. This novel bored me. It took me a long time to read it because it didn't keep my constant attention and failed to keep me on my toes. The only part i liked was the ending. That gave a shock. But i won't ruin it for you don't worry! In 'Pandemomium' By Lauren Oliver, Lena is in a new stage in her life where she has to be responsible and make her own decisions. She must fend for herself and others in order to save lives. She meets new friends that will always be in her life from now on, and face challenges that could ruin her own life. I can't tell you the specific plot because it gives away the ending of 'Delirium', but i hope this is enough for you! |
