February 19, 1473- Considered the founder of modern astronomy, Nicholas Copernicus, was born in Torun, Poland and later in life theorized that the sun was the center of the universe. February 20, 1962- In the Space Race between America and the Soviets, John Glenn became the first American astronaut launched into orbit. February 21, 1994- The CIA agent Aldrich Ames was arrested for spying for the Soviet Union between 1985 and 1991. February 22, 1732- In Westmoreland County, Virgina George Washington, America's first president , is born.
