This is pretty much me going through the first Bioshock game and saying how good it is. Warning: This post contains Bioshock spoilers; click the "Read More" in the bottom right-hand corner if you want to be spoiled (unless you've played it already; then you can freak out with me). Okay before I start, know that I went through the game without harvesting any Little Sisters, so my ending was the good ending a.k.a. the best ending. I also only remember the beginning and end. Oops. The BeginningThe game starts out in 1960 with Jack on a plane that crashes in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. He coincidentally crashes right next to a lighthouse, so he goes inside and sees a giant bust of Andrew Ryan with a banner that says "No gods or kings. Only Man." Jack makes his way down the steps and into a bathysphere terminal that brings him to Rapture. When he gets to Rapture, Atlas - a.k.a. the only person in the whole series who I hate - reaches him on the radio (How? I have no idea) and tries to guide Jack through Splicers towards a broken door. Thankfully there's a vending-machine-thing called a Gatherer's Garden on a balcony behind where you walk in. The GG has the Electro Shock plasmid, and Jack injects it into his wrist and starts freaking out (what else would you expect if you injected a mysterious red fluid into your body). He flips over the balcony and goes unconscious. While Jack is unconscious, a Little Sister and Big Daddy walk over to him, and are about to take his ADAM, but they hear Splicers roaming around, so they leave Jack alone. Jack wakes up, and now that he has the Electro Shock he can shock the little control thing that opens the broken door. Jack keeps walking around and is going through a bunch Splicers. There's one bathroom on the second floor, and when you walk in it, there's this ghost-type thing - sort of like a projection - and everything gets kind of fuzzy. That happens a lot throughout the game, but I'm not 100% sure as to why it happens. Anyway, Jack goes through a hole in the wall of one of the bathroom stalls, and we reach a room with a glass barrier between him and a Little Sister. The Little Sister is getting harassed by a Splicer for her ADAM, but then a Big Daddy comes out of nowhere and drives his drill into the Splicer and throws him against the glass, killing him; go you, Big Daddy. Big Daddys are my favorite characters in the first Bioshock. Jack keeps going, and there's this big blackout, and doors are locked and alarms go off. Splicers are coming in from so many directions, but, since they all walk to the middle of the room where there's a giant puddle of water, it's easy to kill more than one at a time by shocking the water. One he kills all of the Splicers, Jack goes over to this little room where there's a door to the next sector/level. You think you're gonna just walk through the door, but then Andrew Ryan comes up on a screen behind you and starts talking to you - I don't remember what about, though. He probably starts talking about how Jack is "never gonna escape Rapture" or how "Atlas isn't who you think he is." I don't know. The MiddleJack kills Ryan, Atlas' family gets murdered in front of him by Splicers, and you find out that Atlas is actually this dude named Frank Fontaine, and he's been getting Jack to do all of these things for him just by saying "Would you kindly?" beforehand. Like I said: Atlas is the worst. The EndYou finally meet Atlas face-to-face, and you have to show him who's boss, and I think Atlas tries to say "Would you kindly?" but then it doesn't work. It's so amazing, and I hate Atlas so much. So Jack has to try and defeat Atlas, but Atlas is jacked up on all of this ADAM so he's super powerful and he's bringing out all of these Splicers, so he had to defeat Atlas and the Splicers. Eventually, Jack kills Atlas, and all of the Little Sisters come out to start stabbing Atlas to death with the ADAM needles. The cinematic ending is Jack bringing the Little Sisters to the surface and allowing them to have a life. It's so emotional; you have no idea. Play this game because let me tell you it's amazing. Oh wait. I just did.
