November 26, 1922- In Egypt, Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon first entered King Tutankhamen's tomb. November 27, 1701- Andrew Celsius was born in Sweden, and he later invented the centigrade (Celsius) temperature scale which is commonly used in Europe. November 28, 1905- Irish political party Sinn Fein was founded by Arthur Griffith in Dublin. November 29, 1890- The first imperial Diet (legislation) opened in Japan, consisting of a House of Peers and a House of Representatives. November 30, 1939- Finland invaded more than 20 Russian divisions in the Winter War.
